The castle escape that I didn’t think I needed.
Earlier this year, I had the chance to attend L’Envie, an editorial workshop nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley at the breathtaking Chateau Thauvenay. It was a collaboration between florists and photographers and all clichés aside, it really felt like a dream and I needed it more than I realized. Everyone that joined from the mouthwatering catering to the impeccable styling created the most magical safe space where art could be created by everyone.
After weeks of photographing, editing and delivering on repeat and the absurd pressure I put on myself at the beginning of the year to chase something that didn’t even felt like me (you can read it here), I wasn’t sure if joining another editorial shoot would be the best plan. Lately I felt like it’s all about superficial looks – and don’t get me wrong, I love a good styling, amazing venue or breathtaking floral arrangements – but I really miss the intention of telling a story, even in styled shoots. Call it longing, but something deep inside me said I should give it one more try, even if it was just going to be a creative pause. I came to reconnect with the story. My story. And I left feeling grounded, inspired and more committed than ever to telling your stories.
So if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in France that feels like art, but grounded in heart, I’m here for that. Whether it’s a chateau in the countryside, a parisian rooftop or a hidden vineyard – let’s make something wildly honest and beautiful together.
